They have plastic coated cable there (I should have mentioned that, sorry) and that is what I used. I cut off about 2-3" of the plastic and threaded the ends through a couple of their crimp connectors (heavy steel barrels) and just hammered them flat to seal them.

I watch where those ends go but one could certainly get some of that plastic dip for tools and plastic coat the ends including the crimps....

I think the whole rig cost me $6 including the lock.
