I'm having a hard time removing the stock grips on the throttle side. Do I have to just cut it off or something?
Eh? The new grips come with a throttle sleeve installed don't they? In which case you'd take the housing apart, remove the whole grip and sleeve by disconnecting the cables then install the new one rather than having to cut the old grip off the sleeve.

Also, do you spray the hairspray directly on the bars?
Yep... just think of it as spray-on glue.
