For those who have removed their AI and not had this happen yet.

Engine heat causes the little vacume cap that comes with most AI removal kits to break down rapidly and eventually come off. Causing the bike to run like crap.I replaced my 3rd one by the side of the road yesterday so its a good idea to carry spares.

Question,,while I was doing this. I realized i have the California emmissions rig on there. (why I dont know California is about a planet away from here). Can I yank that junk out of there and run a jumper from the vacume port for the AI to the port for the California crap? without causing a problem?

The percentage you're paying is too high-priced While you're living beyond all your means And the man in the suit has just bought a new car From the profit he's made on your dreams

i yanked that stuff off of my 06 soon after i got it. Not sure about the jumper, i just capped off at the carbs, 2 each side, which do crack quite often. Got rid of about 5 pounds of junk and 5 miles of tubing and runs great

To save some time, just nip the hose and insert a nylon T fitting. You can get them cheap at most autoparts stores. That CA originated stuff is starting to catch on in other states, so you might need it. Besides, you gain a slight increase in fuel economy because you burn the fumes and spillover that would otherwise be dumped into the atmosphere.
