When I was looking at Triumphs last fall, I read a review of the America that said it was a bike that revealed it's charms over time. Whilst I was in love with it when I bought it in December, I am at the 6000 mile mark and I have to say it does just get better.
But the real point is that after reading so many great posts, the other day I was riding with my daughter (an hour after filling up in 93 degree heat) and the bike kept cutting out on me. I am most certainly NOT a mechanic, but I pulled over, thought for a minute, then unscrewed the gas cap for a moment. Suddenly it was running fine. May not seem like much to the mechanically inclined, but knowing enough not to panic means a lot to me.
In the miles I have put on her, I have had two MINOR issues (the aforementioned stoppage and a sticky throttle that I caught in pre-flight) This site and the information shared here allowed me to correct them both with something resembling confidence.
Thanks to those who share what they know with those of us who don't even know what we don't know!
