RE Hot Weather riding. Here in Vegas it has been in the low hundreds for weeks. With low humidity it feels like you are riding into a Jolly Green Giant hair drier.

You lose sweat real fast and unless you rehydrate constantly you will eventually get heat exhaustion. I know. I have had it and it is not fun. You get really stupid, lethargic, slow and eventually you will pass out.

My solution is to ride with a large (64 oz) insulated plastic jug full of ice and gatorade. I also carry 2 or 3 qt milk containers with more gatorade. If necessary I can stop at a 7-11 and get more ice.

You must drink at least a quart of water or whatever (not soda or caffine) every half hour. You lose water really fast riding at 75 mph in a hot wind. You never feel the sweat on you because is is wicked away from your skin and evaporates instantly. It does cool you down but you are losing valuable water which you must constantly replace. Do they make an insulated camelback?
