ok, I got my travel planning package from the CAA so I must actually be going!
Their route is straight interstate of course, much like what I posted first but now I have to plan the real thing.
I’ll be crossing over from Canada into Michigan then either around Chicago or maybe by ferry to Milwaukee. Once I get to South Dakota my route is a bit set by things I want to see. My current thinking is to cross the mississipi at Dubuque and go through iowa and Nebraska on some combination of Highways 20 & 30 going up into south Dakota through the badlands national park.
This is like 1,000 miles so I’ll probably stop a couple of nights unless I get bored. Anybody got any suggestions for things to see/do on the route or alternates? Good places to eat, cheap places to stay? Anybody want to meet up? This will be like Aug 4-6.
