Wow, that is a beast for sure. I would have to do something with those cans. Looks like bell bottom blues I wore in the 70's. Oops, telling my age I suppose. Mike

Well it certainly isn't pretty but it does look like a powerful "industrial" ride...a lot like the Terminator meets the "new" naked ethos...

Defying all odds, they seem to have actually improved it instead of screwing it up. Maintenance won't be easy, though. Those who are saying it ain't pretty are missing the point. Like a Browning M-2, a Caterpillar D-9, or an M-1 Abrams, the beauty of a VMax is in it's effortless brute strength, the way it kills a fly with a sledgehammer. Me likey Me broke Me sad

$17,990 price tag??? I don't think so, Tim. There are VERY few bikes out there that I would be willing to spend that kind of cheese on, and they are all Italian.

I'll agree that the price is steep. I'll agree it looks a bit unusual. I've got a feeling it will look better in person - and even if it doesn't, I believe that's one of those looks that will grow on ya. It is undenyably KICKASS! I particularly like the seating/peg position. It will no doubty be the naked rocket for old fat guys who can't take that 'feet tucked up under your keester, belly on the tank' feeling. I say they sell a bunch and those who put down the big bucks to get one will be pleased.
For a better look - check the videos - there are at least three, one of which is about 20 min. long. Yammerhammer did a real nice publicity job on the web intro.

well I think Victory's Vision just lost the goofy looking bike competition.
It's funny though I always thought the older V-maxes where ugly until I saw one in person.

no expert here but the Vmax seems to have a cult like follwing. People that I have talked to have a "either you like or you dont, if you dont then so be it" mentality. The older one was ugly to me for years too but I ahve to admit...when I see one I know what it is and I know its a great machine. Id love to see one of the new ones up close...but not too close. Looks like it bites

One thing to note here.....this new V-max is prettier than a Rocket 3. At least in my opinion.
I bet its fun to take for a spin.

I'm not sure that it was one of these that I saw in my local dealers but the only thing that stood out were the wheels. They look like they're cut from sheet metal and then bent in a strange way.
There are things that look nice and/or pretty, despite their industrial-ness (Speed Triple comes to mind) but that thing is bloody ugly; too many lumps and bumps that look like after-thoughts.

I love the mechanicalness of it, with all the complexity of the motor. Ugly? Heck no! I think it's beautiful, wish I could afford it.

Well, it looks like old Max FINALLY got a decent frame. The jury is still out on the styling; however, I believe that 10 out of 12 of them are going to find it fugly as charged. Don't even get me started on that exhaust.

I believe the Vmax came out in 1985....whereas the copy Vrod 2002...so it would be the Vrod looks like a Vmax.

I guess if raw power is your thing...ugly dont matter. And as somone else said the buety is in the engineering not the aesthetics. At one time the VMAX was the fastest 1/4 mile production bike out there, Dont know if that is still true.
