How does it run? Is there black smoke out the exhaust.
Black sooty plugs equals too much fuel. I would first check your float level, if it's out bend the tang to adjust.
Check the needle and seat, is there trash holding it open, is there deformation of either piece (soft brass)? Stick with the basics.
