I think Mexico abolished the death penalty in 1995.
The percentage you're paying is too high-priced

And the man in the suit has just bought a new car

They are typical of third world countries. (jails) Not that jail anywhere is a good thing if you are the one in them...but the jails in Mexico make most of ours look like health spas for the rich and famous.

WOW, Kevin. Sounds to me like you might have some first-hand experience in this matter.
(so what DID those Federales down there nab ya for anyway, huh?!)
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Well back in the day...A US $20 bill slipped decreatly to a Nuevo Larado cop, woudl get you out of just about anything. But it does seem there is a different attitude tward DUI south of the border. http://www.vdare.com/walker/dui.htm

Back in 1980 one of my sailors was tossed in jail in TJ for hitting a cop in a bar fight and I had to go visit him. The cop was not in uniform or on duty so after a few days they let him out with a big fine. My sailor also had to pay a Mexican lawyer who was connected to the local hotshots and his buddies took up a collection for him. The jail was a pit but he said the food wasn't bad. I only had to go the one time and it was enough to make me decide I'd rather pay the bribes.
We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

If you look at the article, there's a wider pic that shows a cop car to the right.

Actually I have never been to a Mex jailyard and I never will. I make a habit of staying out of third world countries other than when I was forced to go to them by Uncle Sam

That's right. Arizona is a third world country. No-one should come here. There is nothing to see or do here. It is all just wasteland. So, if you were thinking about moving here, don't waste your time. Look at some place nice like CA or MA or NY.
