If you have never visited this event?
You are missing a very good event!!

We were there last year.
And I've been there nearly every year since I don't know when!

The swap meet area alone requires 1 full day to just browse!!

If you stop for 5 minutes at all the swap sites?
You'll not see them all!!
And it grows every year!!

Then the races!!!
OMG!!
It's a rare treat to see some of the bikes there doing
what they do best!!
It is truely breath takeing to see '50s and '60's era bikes
kicking ****** and takeing names!!
And there is always the guy with the problem bike.
He get's lapped 100 times!
But he finishes.
I love that guy most of all!

Now you add in the Free ride events.
Triumph was a big one last year, but not the only one!
And if you could see the roads they git to ride!
Twistys and up and down!!
Those that made the Ohio Rally 2 years ago?
Just like that!
Suggestion if you do a Demo ride?
Drop back if you can.
Then give it heck to catch up!!

All in all?
There's to much there to do it in one weekend!
You need several years to really enjoy it!!

That's what I was thinking as well since it's about the same distance for me too. Plus I'd like to get some test rides in with Nancy on the back.

Have you guys looked into any motels yet?

I'll be there for sure. I've also been asked to work the Triumph booth (a customer relations move no doubt,) and will probably do so. Heck, I can bull$hit about motorcycles all day & night long!

Hey WOJO and Pat(Dingua) I've got my tickets and plan on leaving Indy early Friday. I will be camping there. It's a 4 hour drive for me too. I will be looking for you two, and Jaymo and meeting John's wife. Curious to see who would put up with you.

Well it looks like we are going to this. Nancy said we need to get away for a weekend and I reminder her of Mid-Ohio and she said, "good idea". I'll be sending in my fax for the tickets today, the last day of registration too.

I'll be looking for you Steve. I know we'll be there on the Saturday for sure but not sure if we'll be there for Friday.

Who else is going? Pat, you and Jaymo still thinking of going? How about you Nancy? You and Jeff going to be there? I know Stern12 can't be there on Saturday but would be nice to see Chris again.

Pardon me for not "attacking" all the info available on this gathering but maybe you all could help me out. All the talk about registration and tickets has me a little confused. Is it possible to just show up at this, buy a ticket and enjoy the show. I'd like to go but with obligations and other things I have going I won't know if I'll be able to make it or not until probably a few days before. Just don't see any reason for all the pre-planning stuff when it's 50/50 at best whether or not I am going to make it.

Thanks Nancy but I think since this is our big "vacation" possibly for the year we're going to try and find a place.

Triumph is the 'Marque of the Year' at the AMA VMD event.

We're building a museum quality display/exhibit at the mid-Ohio Sports Car Course telling the story of the Triumph success, rebirth and renewed success of the last 50 years. And I'm doing it with a maximum number of 30 of the very most iconic motorcycles of our history.

The exhibit will be completely enclosed in a 40x100 tent complete with floor, lighting and a staff of 4. Full security at night. Insurance policy to cover the bikes, event, public etc....

More details at: http://www.triumphmotorcycles.com/usa/9564.aspx

Hi Steve, I also pr-registered for camping. I understand that you can get day passes for the track. Those are available at the gate. Hope to see you there. Should be a 4 hour drive for you too.

Found a place with some rooms still available. It's about 20 miles from the rally and the price could be better but at this late in the game I think I have to take what I can get without camping being in the picture.

Did you call or did you fax in your registration. I'm guessing since I did mine on the last day and that it was faxed to Mid-Ohio race course that they got a lot in on the last day and that they all have to be forwarded to Triumph in Atlanta before things are straightened out. I'll be giving them a week.

I noticed that it looks like the only opportunity for Triumph Owners to take Parade Laps on the Race Track is Friday at 1:15pm, I hope this isn't true. Last year the Hardley guys got to take their laps on Saturday afternoon.
