Hi, I'm new to writing in questions...but have been reading the forums for a while now. Had my 04 TBA since Sept 07 (1500 miles)This season I am getting into the performance a little more (Tors, freak, jetting)... Bike runs GREAT! but falls on its face at 7100rpm on bikes tach no matter the jetting. My guess is the limiter has to be set at atleast 7500 if the advertized HP is 60@ 7400! right? Seems to feel like there is plenty of pull left. Can the rev limiter be changed? In what module is it located? Can the dealer do anything? Will a Thruxton unit fit? Has anyone tried changing the pick-up coil gap that I read about somewhere in here? I'm not looking for much just a few hundred RPM. Thanks for your help. the dude

Yes, the tach can easily be off by that much. I think they are made in the same place as the speedometer.

it can be off by that much like greybeard said, just shift when it hits a tick over 7 and you will have constant power

Replacing the TBA CDI with a Speedmaster unit will give you approx. 600 RPM more before hitting the limiter. Made a big difference for me.
