One of our riding buddies has one. When she tied her camping stuff to it, it would rise up. There is nothing holding the backrest in, it simply pulls right out. Would have to not pull straight up for mounting/dismounting, I imagine. Could probably be drilled and cotter pinned, or maybe set-screwed.
