When I mounted the Pro-Tac I tried inserting a couple of washers, but it just wasn't enough to clear the seat pan. Really, though, pulling back the cover and notching with a rotary tool is easy. The notch only needs to be a half moon about the shape of a quarter, so it's no big deal. When the back is removed, it leaves a small impression on the seat, but it's hardly noticeable. All in all, I'd not hesitate to get the same setup again. Works great, price is right, quality is good, and a little minor mod work just seems natural
