...they are the kings in Chicago.
My A$$! the White Sox are kings in Chicago. He!! they have a hard time selling out US Sell-Ur-Soul Field until the playoffs on the odd years that Sox are going to make them. Not a rant against the Sox but what a biased, self-glorifying statement. They may have won the two previous baseball championships in Chicago, and I congratulate them for that, but it certainly does not make them the kings in this town.
Having grown up on the southwest side of Chicago as a Cubs fan I am very aware of the "partisan" bickering that goes on between Cubs and Sox fans alike. I like both teams but if it comes down to it my heart is blue. Some believe it is not possible to like both teams. Why not? They are not even in the same league. I tend to side with the Cubbies 'cause that is what the old man and both grandfathers watched but I have probably been to more Sox games overall in my life. Easier for Mom to get me and my brothers to a game, at what used to be known as Comiskey Park, when the old man was working. I also tend to disagree with the American League's love of the designated hitter rule. Nobody grew up playing ball that way. 9 men go on the field for defense, the same 9 men should be all that are allowed to go on the field for offense. Way to keep the old timers around that can't field but can still swing a bat. Yeah, that's real baseball.
Having said all that, I cannot even comment on my opinions about the Cardinals. I believe what I might have to say would violate the AUP.
Ride On!
