OK, couldnt stay out of this one!!! I have had a couple of "crotch rockets" and also a few cruisers, and a few standards tooo.. I have to say, if you are going to write off all crotch rockets as being bad then you might as well write off the RIII that I had also as being bad, because that was just as addictive to do the same stupid stuff on as the rest of the "sport bikes" In my case the others being the Speed 4 that I totalled because someone pulled out in front of me when I was doing about 40 and I ran it off the road and layed it down, and the Speed Triple that I sold. I would have to say that when it really came down to it, the way that i behaved on my rocket was about how I did my triple, and u know which I would rate as safer for it. The Triple. I admit I did stupid stuff on both, Nothing like wheelieing a rocket at a 45 degree angle from a stop light next to a euro car with a nitrous bottle to show the youngsters they aint all that. But the Triple was a lot safer doing it. Yes I should know better, especially at almost 40, but u know what, Its all up to the person, its not the bike. I have seen people try wheelies and other stupid stff on other bikes and let me tell u, there is nothing like seeing a $35000 big dog get mangled cuz the rider try a wheelie. And he was almost 50. So its definately not the bikes, its the rider. I would still have a Triple if I could still get comfy on it. But not going to happen anymore.
