The price of oil doesnt make sense, even OPEC says that. Un regulated oil speculation is driving it up, and speculators have little on the line to play this game. Add in an unwillingness to produce your own, well, we have get what we deserve. I would only hope that we enjoy the riding and forget the prices, its a lot cheaper than a night at the movies, and MUCH more satisfying ( and as the operator, we control where we go ).
