Well. I'll offer an opinion. Those flyscreens are...for what they cost virtually useless. They are at best ornamental when compared with a "true" windscreen.
If you want something that is functional in terms of riding comfort,utility and practicality then a full windscreen of which a fair number of options are open for pre 07 models is your ticket.
Some will never use a windscreen but I find them indispensable for touring. Try riding 850 miles or more in one long day without one and you will find the final three to four hours of your trip to be less than comfortable. All those miles of wind slipstream hitting you head on in the upper torso , head and neck will wear on you.
