After looking at some GA rally pics I realized that I have made appearance changes to the bike since the rally, just little stuff
painted the side covers and different horn. But then I begain to realise every time I look at pictures of the bike
something is different from picture to picture. So here the question how often do you change something on your bike?
I still remember the line I told my wife when I picked her up. Its so sharp I wil not have to change a thing, could be the biggest lie I ever told.

I think most of them evolve over time. I tried to do a huge makeover last year but events (and money) conspired against me. So now I just have the front end blacked out. Hopefully the next phase will be paint. Then electrics (turn signals, headlight, etc.).

It seems to go in spurts but I would say in the two years I've owned the bike, something has changed every 3 months. Got to stop that!

Yep! Don't forget to give a little credit to the dude who "custom fit" your new tail-light "lens" for ya, John!

I dunno. The one that's on there now looks pretty sloppy.

I think it depends on what I see and if I can convince the Mrs that I need it, the bike will be a lot better with it on.

It's worked so far

when it was new it changed pretty frequent but now I would say I change things over the winter just to feed my "fix". So I guess at least once a year in the spring

Mines about to change. I ordered some black Ikon shocks and fork springs from Brent and will be putting them on tomorrow when I get back home.

BTW...

I ordered these things from Brent in the morning, they were shipped the same day of order, and they arrived at my front door the VERY next day. Kudos up the kazoo for Newspeedmaster.com!!!

In the first few months of ownership, did the the usuals, ai removal. Added drive lights bags and sissy bar.
Long TORs. couple home meade do dadads and a couple store bought do dads.
Underwent an accedental change last year at this time. All of those changese have now been reversed. Abd bikes pretty much back to the way it was prior to thoase changes.
I still have one of 2 unfinished doit youself cosmetic things going on. Trouble is i nolonger have access to "free"
machining. (access is there but has become risky).
SOme time this season. If the money gods smile on me I plan to loose the stock bridgestones and and maybe put in progressive front springs.

I've had mine about 2 months now, and so far just the ai is gone and mixture screws are different. However, I have 2 boxes of parts in the garage and more on the way(gaiters, seat, rack, etc), so a change is on the way. Cosmetically, every time I look at it I see ways to change it. Funny, like oneijack I thought it was perfect the way it sat in the dealer showroom but it's not quite playing out that way. It's great having such a great and versatile platform to work with though!!

At first it was only little things, like the chrome clutch cable loop, a tool bag, saddlebags, and oh yeah - the very first thing was removing the A.I..

I added a Flyscreen a couple of years ago, then the clutch-lifter dress-up kit. And then last year, thanks to the CLASSIFIEDS here on this Forum, I picked up a Triumph Touring Seat, a Sissy Bar and Luggage Rack, and a set of TORs, all told, spent about $300 for the three items (Beat that).

The Dealers may be discounting the Tank Badges now that the new tank is out - I picked up a set of Knee Pads and the Garden Gate Tank Badges for only $100 last month.

So yeah, my Speedmaster does look a bit different now, four years later. I've kind of "Gone My Own Way", I guess.

After I had to replace my belt with a Harley piece, and put the HD saddlebags on my bike, my buddy said it would be quicker to just buy a Harley rather than build one piece by piece.

My bike was in a constant metamorphosis the first two years. Now that it is almost 3 years old, I don't see much I want to change in appearance. I have all the chrome I want, but I'll probably change saddlebags eventually.

The big bore was my change for this year. I may change sprockets/chain to something slightly different. It took me about 2 1/2 years of changes to want to stop.

The only time I've ever "finished" a bike is when I signed over the title to the new owner...it's just a given factor and I thank my wife for allowing it to occur.

I hear you there Snows. I'm glad your up and able to post, I hope that means you are doing okay. I was there recently myself.
I keep looking at things to change, and I know what I want. I'm just trying not to buy everything at once and enjoy each little piece as I do it. I did just picked up a solo seat and ordered a seat adapter from Fast Eddy. The luggage rack is coming off too.

My speedy already is looking better. What next?

Hi Chris,

My sickles change as needs demand. Monday saw a reconfiguration. Having two sister sickles it is real easy to inadvertently change the configuration. The biggest reconfig was when I stripped Vera of her touring accoutrements, placing those on Cinnamon girl last Aug/Sept. Then the invariable weekly pillion shifts. Got to just leaving the oem pillion on the shelf now. Vera looks real fine with a naked rear end. Having said that I really need to redo the rear indicators as they look out of place with the bare fender. Ahh, want to paint a memorial to OKC on the fender too. Too many ideas not enough wherewithal.

Seriously, both sickles have all the farkles they is gonna git. Everything i buy now consists of maintenance items especially new rubber thingees. Swapping out parts are the changes...Saddle with backrest, then without. Blk corbin saddle then alligator gold pin stripped corbin saddle. No windscreen(s) then well it will be a long time fo any are remounted.
