That isn't a huge difference, if you notice in the first shot they are already turning gold. I also see you still have the AI (Air Injection) on there. I would remove that right away, it injects air after the exhaust valve causing the exhaust to be hotter. The tubes that are outboard of the spark plugs, there are kits out there to do this but it is also possible to get the parts yourself to do it at a savings. You need to remove the parts next to the plugs and plug them then pull the gas tank and remove the pump, remove and cap the vacuum line in front of the carb, and remove the big hose to the air box and plug the air box, you need to plug that since it is after the filter and if you didn't you would have unfiltered air going in your engine.
