Get the 05, you wont look back. It has the better looking tank, and the savings are nice, as mentioned, to put accessories on the bike.
I bought a 04 Speedmaster in 06, new, no miles, and have not second guessed the decision once. The discount was about $2K off, and the $500 goody deal was on at the time and they gace me that, all in goodies, an installed for free...real nice dealer.
