Last night around 11:30 AM I headed home from my favorite night spot by my usual route ....across town west and into the Tucson mountains/desert sonoran scrub country....nice warm evening and about three miles from home I rounded out of a tight corner accelerating and lo and behold a deer magically appeared in my headlight beam looking the other way but frozen by the light.

I hit both brakes hard and felt the rear start to lockup and released it...not knowing if the animal would move one way or the other..I came to a stop mere yards in front of the deer who then bolted back into the desert.

Scary ? Yes. I will still wear my usual lack of gear. I am glad that fate gave me the time to get stopped. I still will take my chances and go my own way free and in the wind.

Do as you please and remember the responsibility is yours alone.
