Could someone who has Avon Venoms on their TBA please tell me what the proper sizes are, without having to modify fenders, etc.?
I'm pretty tired of the crappy look of the stock Bridgestones, not to mention their overall underperformance, and from what I've read, Avon Venoms are a good alternative.
Thanks, Philip

Avon Rear AM42 Venom 170/80H15 BLK AV-338
Avon Front AM42 Venom 100/90H18 BLK AV-324
Stock Front is 110/80
A 100/90 is the same as 100mm x 90%= 90mm sidewall height,
while the 110/80 is 88mm in height,
so only 2mm height difference.

Put on the Avons! Best tire I've ever run with.

Thanks, guys. I'll check around and see who has the best prices around here (San Fernando Valley).
Edit: Answer - No one around here has good prices. Ordered from motorcycleproshop.com. Both tires came to $223, including CA sales tax and shipping. They ship from Southern CA and have them in stock, so I'll probably have them tomorrow. Now I'll have to find a reasonable installer; my dealer is 70 miles away, so that's not an option.

I agree that the Venoms make a world of difference. The Blue Streak seems much more sure footed now. My dealer gave me a very good price once I showed them the price available online. I always ask for a discount since I bought the bike there and they always give it to me with minimal squeezing.
We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

Visit your local independent motorsickle shops. Or try other manufacturer dealers. Like the Honda shop or whatever. Tyre changeout is not rocket science. Finding a dealer who cares about your ride usually is tantamount to rocket science though. The smaller independent shops usually care cause 1. They have to and 2. They ride!

Actually, there's a shop a few miles away called MC Tire Works that specializes in motorcycle tires -- that's all they do. They were mentioned in an artice in Motorcycle Cruiser as the only shop within miles that would change out a 250-section rear tire on a Victory Hammer they were testing. I'll drop by there Saturday. Can't wait to try out the Venoms (after I scrub them in a bit, of course).

I agree with everyone else. I have them and you can tell the difference immediately.

Anyone know how these compare to the stock Metzlers that come on the speedmaster? May as well try and get an idea whether i should stick with Metzlers or try something else instead of waiting till the last minute.

If you need more incentive to buy them, I see they are on sale from motorcycleproshop.com now. The front is $84 and the rear is $115. I had to jump on that offer.

I am currently running the AVON 200/60-16 on the back of my TBA. Very sticky, and the tread is very aggressive. Tons better than stock.

The Triumph dealer in Brea seems to do decent work. And, the 6K mile service there cost a good bit less than the 500 miler where I bought the bike. You can tell they are serious about their product line, they have an entire showroom devoted to Triumph. They also do Ducks and Victorys, but they have separate showrooms and shops for them.

Did you have to modify your bike's rear end to run that size tire on there?

No, still running the stock swingarm and rear fender albiet chopped. I am running a Thunderbird rear wheel which is 16 inches stock. I just had to widen the rear rim from the stock 3 inches to 5 1/2 inches. Other than that everything else is stock.
