The wife & I were just returning from the grocery store and here comes a bike in the opposite direction that suddenly looks familiar. HEY! There goes my Triumph! Some smart & lucky guy picked up my 2005 Speedmaster this week from the Victory dealer where I had traded it in last year. He got a great bike in excellent condition at a good price. Nice to know it was someone local! Dude, if you're out there, enjoy & ride safe!

Recently went through the same thing. I went to the Deere dealer for some parts and one of the mechanics had the Lowrider the OL had recently traded in on her Roadking.

If it was the one at Victory in Lebanon, it just sold last week and was listed at a great price. The dealer was a stop on this weekends local Poker Run.

Saw one of my old bikes outside a bar one time - about 3 months after I traded it. Bike looked really rough. I'd had that bike for over 12 years and was reminiscing about all the good rides when the new owner walked out to see what I was doing. Despite the bandages and his arm in a cast, I still wanted to kick his ___ for crashing "my" bike. So mad, I almost bought it back from him!

A very cool followup... Today we were at the Local Friendly Victory Dealer Open House and in rides my old Speedmaster. So I wander over to the guy as he's getting off and asked him where he got that POS Triumph. He gives me a kind of startled look and then I introduced himself and we had a great old time talking about the bike. (He bought it at the Vic dealer where I traded it in.) He's a real nice guy, loves the bike, takes great care of it and has been putting a lot of miles on it. It's gone from 15,000 to 20,000+ in the last 5 months or so. I wish him well with it and many more miles. You may see him here some day in the future.

One day I was approached by a guy driving a hummer. Told me I was riding his old bike. He had bought a bigger Vtwin to keep up with his HD buddies, I laughed, and then told me how much they gave him on a trade. I laughed again. I got it for significantly less than what they "paid" him for a his trade.

Same thing sorta happened to me. Years ago, I rebuilt and totally worked up a beautiful Triumph chopper. Rode it daily for ten years, traded it in perfect condition, with a beautiful custome paint scheme and clean as a whistle. Saw it about a year later, the new owner had painted it black with a spray can and beat the crap out of it. One more reason why I hardly EVER sell one of my machines. (But I'm gonna have to build another carport if I keep going...)

Rode and wrenched the same shovelhead cop bike for 20 years, it became more mine than Harley's. Couldnt stand the thought of someone else abuseing it, sooooo.. I took my wrenches to it and there isnt two pieses together anymore. Now I'll either rebuild it someday, or part it out. Either way it doesnt wind up someone elses.

That happened to me but it was our first car, a Volkwagon Fox. It was sort of cool.

It's like being in a restaurant and seeing your former wife seated with another guy . Mixed emotions here .

because you feel bad for him, right?
Always remember to be yourself. Unless you suck. Then pretend to be someone else.

You want to talk about mixed emotions.... Try being in a restaurant and seeing your former wife seated with a hot woman... and knowing she's on a date....
