Here is the set list guys:
25 October 2005
Madison Square Garden, New York, US

Cream
Eric Clapton - guitar, vocals
Jack Bruce - bass, vocals
Ginger Baker - drums, vocals

I'm So Glad
Spoonful
Outside Woman Blues
Pressed Rat
Sleepy Time Time
Tales of Brave Ulysses
NSU
Badge
Politician
Sweet Wine
Rolllin' & Tumblin
Stormy Monday
Deserted Cities
Born Under A Bad Sign
We're Going Wrong
Crossroads
Sitting On Top Of The World
White Room
Toad
*******************
Sunshine Of Your Love

A very well rounded, albeit "safe" show. They played and sang very well, but didn't really pull out the stops so to speak. The solos were tasty but you knew they had a formulaic thing going on.

This is certainly not a complaint. I loved every second of it. If I had a ticket for tonight I would gladly return.

Anyone who has or has seen the DVD from the Albert Hall shows will note that the set list is the same except for the addition of Tales of Brave Ulysses.

Ginger Baker is something to see. He is a phenomenal musician. I had no idea just how prolific his career has been since The Day. He is very involved in the jazz scene and has released a great deal of material over the years.

Still Sitting on Top of the World,
mert

mert. Im a HUGE fan of Cream. Even picked yup the Blind Faith album. I heard that they were going to do a show in England, their not touring here in the states are they?

When you mention Ginger Baker, I cant help to think of Toad. Awsome drummer. Eric is a pretty good guitar picker too. LMAO!

Most excellent lil Sis, glad you had a ball and made it back in one piece!! I assume you didn't ride there, despite the balmy Connecticut weather....

Gary,
the reunion tour was only slated for London and New York City. I really feel so fortunate to have been able to go.

You will truly enjoy seeing the DVD of the London shows.

I'm sick with envy. Now if the Stones would just boot Ron Wood and Daryl Jones out and bring back Bill Wyman and Mick Taylor then you would have a real show also!!! Just dreamin.....

Forget the Stones. Give me a concert with Cream, Led Zeppelin, Stepponwolf and the original Van Halen, and I might show up! LOL

"Formulatic" or not, I bet it was a great concert. Amazing the scale of creativity that originated from the island across the pond a few years ago. Would make an excellent pbs special. Wait I think that was done?

Carlos Santana came through here for an outdoor concert 7-8 years ago. The stage sound system was underpowered, so the band took a 20 break in the music. During the break Carlos spoke impromptu to the kids in the audience about value of education, etc. When they got powered up he said, now we're going to make it up and play for you. You could tell they were having a good time, as was the audience.

Hey Mert,

Back in the day Cream ruled, although Hendrix was the man. Mike Bloomfield, Al Kooper, Alvin Lee, they don't make them like they used to. I'd like to see Joe Walsh in concert with maybe Ronnie Montrose. Surely you're not old enough to remember Cream first hand in the 60's.

freedom, got to see Carlos this year at an outdoor concert, it rocked!!! He was there with Los Lonely Boys, who were also great. Have been playing catch-up with going to see all these acts I missed the first time through, like the Eagles this year (Joe Walsh included), which was far and away THE BEST concert I have ever seen!!! I was worn out when it was over, and I think they hit every single song I ever loved, plus stuff from all of their individual solo careers!! Now to catch up with F-wood Mac....

Biff,
Saw Robert Plant during one his solo tours a few years ago. About half way though Jimmy Page joined him on stage and they played over an hour of Zep songs. Really cool evening. Of couse, not the same as the real thing, but damm close.

I saw Plant and Page in Orlando, our seats were at the side of the stage so I was able to see that Plant was reading from a teleprompter.

I bought the Cream DVD and highly reccommend it.

I foolishly gave away an album made up of British All-Stars. A compilation of early groups & artists (late 50's early 60's) that eventually became Fleetwood Mac, Led Zeppelin, etc. They mostly borrowed styles from the Black Blues scene, tweaked it around and shipped it back to the US. What a great sound, I think I know who has that album??????? Most of those kids couldn't have been much over 20 at the time. Amazing.

You missed your chance with Fleetwood Mac Greg. They are no longer, besides, Christy McVeigh quit the band for good. Her voice gave out. Mick has started the Mick Fleetwood Band. They are supposed to have a new album out but I haven't heard it. Joe Walsh was the Eagles! That guys guitar is still amoung the best around after all these years. I've enjoyed him since he formed the James Gang.
