Sounds like a sticky slide to me, possibly a partly blocked vacuum line not allowing the vacuum to derease as it should but more likely a sticky slide. Could also be you return cable is loose that pulls the butterflies closed and they are hanging up and then snapping closed.

Do you know if you're still running the Air Injection and California Emissions Cannister? Sounds like one of those vacuum valves might be resetting and changing your fuel delivery for just a second.

Good call Ed, I keep forgetting that the CA bikes have all that emissions junk on them.

When these twins run a little lean the will sometimes "cough" at idle.. sounds kinda like a click. If richening the mix doesn't help I'd try cleaning the jets.

Sorry,, was gone for the week, the ai is gone, bubb pipes, K&N filter,, the cannister is still there though,, I am going to richen it up just a tad, but it really isnt something that is making me too crazy,, ohhh,, the slides were just fine, but you never know when they can stick just a little if it isnt happening all the time, just being picky on a machine that really runs great,, I ride with harley guys (and have owned a few myself) and really I feel a little guilty worrying about this after listening to rheir woes
