Which getup is more comfortable for the passenger: The touring saddle or the new (wider) pillion pad? Or, is there another, better alternative than either of these?

My wife has sat on both. Our America had the original pillion which I replaced for the the new 07+ version. Hands down, the new one is the most comfortable of available Triumph seats. It's wider at the rear and narrower at the front and sits up a little higher. The new pillion with the tall sissy bar is about the most comfortable set up for these bikes short of any third party options.

I sent my 07 pillion to spencer and my wife says it's just fantastic. Stupid cheap, too.

Right. But he isn't asking if the new pillion is more comfortable than the old pillion. I think we all agree on that. He wants to know if the new pillion is more comfortable than the touring seat.

Wojo is correct: TOURING SADDLE vs. NEW PILLION; everyone knows the new pillion is better than the old one...

John/Donnie, sorry I didn't write clearer. My wife has sat on both types of seats - touring AND pillion. The original pillion was more comfortable than the touring and the new pillion way better than that. Hope that's clear.

I have the 02 Touring Pillon. How does that compare to the 07 stock Pillon?

Once the 07 pillion came out, there isn't any need for an optional one anymore. I have not done new vs. the older optional touring pillion testing, but the new one is bigger (wider in rear and narrower in front). Everyone I asked said the 07 one is tops. The touring pillion is better than the original stock, though.

Anyone know if the underside of the 07 passenger pillon and the earlier passenger touring pillon are the same? I have one of the homemade driver's backrests attached to the underside of the passenger's pillon, and I would want to keep that if I upgraded to the 07 passenger pillon.

compared tothe 02 its larger, wider towards the aft section and definetly more comfortable. Ive tried the older passenger touring pillion, the touring seat and the new passenger pillon and my wife says the the new passenger pillion is the best of the 3.

I have the stock seat on my Speedmaster. Don´t know about touring seat (took my local dealer over 6 weeks to NOT to deliver one I ordered, so I gave up).
Instead I bought a wheelbarrow inner tube and with right about of air pressure my wife was very pleased sitting on that for like 325miles (520km) trip we took last weekend.
Just thought I let you know this cheap solution.

I just ordered the 07-08 passenger pillon from my dealer. I fit one from a bike on the floor to my 02 America (but they would not let me keep it ). It fits fine, and the bottom underside is also the same. But, it cost $159 plus tax and plus shipping. But again, if I wait, the price probably won't go down. So, I guess now I will have to post my touring pillon into the classified section for sale.

yes, they are
+1 I've stripped my 08 pillion apart to fit a backrest and from all the picks I seen of earlier pillion chassis, they are the same, only the foam and cover have changed. John
