The pipes are okay i guess, theyre not as obnoxious as my old dunstalls but they have a deeper tone. Im thinking about drilling out the baffles somehow cause i feel like im riding a 4 stroke quad or something.
I dont clean the seat at all, its been getting a little dirty from riding on it, but not as bad as i expected. I shined it up a little with plege the other day..ahah

Looks good brother. Doggonit, now I wish I would have given a chance with those shorties. They're not too loud? The 17.5" Emgo reverse cones I just installed are TOO FREAK'N LOUD at highway speed. Oh well... Nice bike, and great work brother. Take care, Jim

yeah i was skeptical about the fit at first too cause the mounting brackets are sorta wierd...I didnt cut them off cause i was sure that i'd like the sound, so theyre under probation. They could be loud to others i guess, but im used to my old pipes which had more of a midrange crack to them. Thanks again though $50 aint a bad price at all..ahha

I like it Tommy! Good call on the T-100 cover, it makes the look. Quote:

Mackster: pull those baffles so you can repack those reverse cones as full as you can get them, you'll be amazed at the difference. Deeper tone and the volume is quite tolerable

thanks Ed...ya know every since i took this pic The sprocket cover stood out too big to me cause i got rid of the side panels, so I tried making one from diamondplate but i didnt like the look, so i went with the t100 cover, and with a little pledge it shines just like the paint on the tins, so i couldnt be happier with the look

I think I would like the new pipes better if they were black.

Yeah, Tommy, once you get the pipes settled in you gotta either black 'em out or scuff them down to a matt finish to match the front lowers.

It's your bike if you like it leave it that way, just speaking to my own preference. It's has a cool over all look and you are headed ion the right direction I think. These changes are for the better in my opinion.

ahah...this makes me wanna keep them chrome Ed...ahah... we'll see what photoshop predicts for the future. You gotta admit the chrome contrasts the wrapped headers and goes with the chrome on the engine, but that back cover between the sprocket cover and the engine is standing out to me, what covers that?

Love the whitewalls. The whole bike looks great. Its funny how when i got into motorcycles everything had to be shiny and chrome but now that is changing. I like the flat black and the blacked out look altogether. What would be really nice would be some old fashioned hot rod pinstripping. That would set off the tank and fenders. A little red and white would be great, but that is just my opinion. Jack

no, it's better chrome. You got a transparent grey you can overlay on that to see how scuffed chrome looks...

I think the blacked out thing is backlash from the obsession with chrome from all the years in the past. Every bike you buy now has chrome on it, so people want it the opposite. Of course theres ALOT of bikes coming already blacked out now too...im sure my kids will be into chrome and my grandkids will like rust and primer..ahah
If i put pinstripes on it, it'd be someone elses bike i think. I'd honestly like to paint it satin brown or army green to be a tad bit different.

Ed,
Will do! I figured they probably didn't have much baffle packing in them from China shop they were made in, but didn't bother to look (too geeked about getting them on.)
I'll defiantly wrap them bad boys pronto and give a full report afterwards. I do like the look that's for sure.
Thanks, Jim

Tom,
Not a problem at all. All the shorties use the "back-end slider" mount that never gets used. Even my new Emgo Megs have them. Just turn down inside'n'hide.

I was kinda dissappointed they had the brackets cause i wanted to see what the slashes looked like facind down or something.

yeah see how theres no chrome on there at all, its all scuffed...you gotta be all in or all out. And i honestly like chrome better than scuffed....just looks like dirty chrome to me..ahha
or no wait, you had your chrome bike inside with the AC on and then you took it outside on a 90degree day..ahha

Okay, that's cool too. I guess you'll have to chrome the lowers then

That's a great looking bike, nice work. Personally, I like the black pipes, but scuffed chrome (scotch-brite) would also look good and probably be a little cheaper and easier to pull off.

Chrome is good as is. I agree, all in or not...but what do you do with the fork lowers, chrome or polish them, or black them out. (I vote black out)

Looking at the battery pic you may want to support the bottom of that box somehow so it doesn't fail from motion of the battery.
