Yeh, it's a shame. Sunshine & showers they said, it's been raining since 10 o'clock and doesn't look like it'll be letting up! At least yesterday was nice for them...

In some ways I'm glad I didn't make the trip up there then. It's a long way for one night....
On the other hand I've not long got back from eating far to much chocolate at CadburyWorld.....

I got a blank text off simonr around 01:30 this morning

Unseasonally severe wind forecast (65mph) in N Wales and northern England for midday tomorrow ... be careful kids.

Hmm, not sure what happened with the blank text Sorry if it caused any inconvenience.

I'm pretty sure we were all listening to Hayseed Dixie (one of your favourites IIRC?) around the fire at about that time. Opinions on Hayseed were, let's say, mixed I had been partaking of Theakston's finest since about 3pm so that combined with the fact that you're the first name (alphabetically) in my mobile may have something to do with it

I got home about 9pm. Not too bad a journey, but I've had better rides. The text to Ray warning of very high winds was the clincher for me.

It was still an excellent, if shorter than planned, weekend. Nice to meet old friends and new.

Got woke up at 3.45am by Pony (Simons alarm on his bike going and off and off so packed tent away and headed home. The winds were true coming home, but I think we may have got away lightly as they are picking up a bit as I type, a few showers on the way.

Very nice to see everyone, and despite the crap weather on Saturday a good time had by all..

Didn't I tell you Ray that I was going to set my alarm to give you an early morning call. Luckily, I was wearing my ear plugs so didn't hear a thing until the lynch party showed up.

The rain wasn't too bad, mostly, just mist and drizzle. Didn't stop us drinking.

Perhaps we should form a seperate branch of the club, the Pipe and slippers MCC for those who don't like to get wet, don't like rowdy crowds and loud music.

Had a great weekend. Spent too much, drank too much and talked too much, so situation normal.

Binky, decided to have a lie down after a busy night of waking people up and with a long journey ahead of her. So she threw me off and lay down in the mud by the gate. Stretcher Monkey and Paul, finally came to my assistance outside, once they had finished wetting themselves. Glad both of them had packed away their cameras.

Very, Very windy all the way back. Lots of snaking across the motorway. Felt like I was running on flat tyres. No control. The wind was so strong, it blew some poor girls backpack off!!! Lots of stops and coffees later, I'm home. 624 mile round trip and worth every minute of it. Nice to see you all again. I'll make sure I sort the alarm out for next time!!!

As you get older you realise you cannot do what you used to do years ago, I was fine the first night considering I am not supposed to drink. I just needed a woman to keep me warm at night

Just got back!

Myself, Pony, and Stretcher Monkey, stopped at Leicester Forrest East Services for a brew, when Frunkletrumpet strolls up, on his way to meet deliver Nobby's Nuts (brit's will get that one!), so we decided to join in and go to say hello as well. We all parted after seeing Nobby at Northampton, apart Frunkletrumpet who mentioned something about a Baguette Barge, so we toddled off to Stratford-Upon-Avon for a bite of lunch!!

Ray, not aimed at you old boy Jusi wish we could have partied as hard as we did at Dent. Missed your BBQ and yer Gazeebow (******, no spell checker)

If only one of us had a speedmaster trike to carry all the stuff.

At 43 I've already noticed various body parts complaining after having too much fun. will bting my pipe and slippers in September/

I must admit I enjoyed myself this weekend and it was nice to catch up with some folk from Dent and meet some new people out there.

The ride back was a bit hairy to say the least, with the winds on the motorway but at least it was dry.

Anyhow here's some pics - I couldn't get the camera out for Simon mud-wrestling with "Binky" because I was having enough trouble keeping my bike up.

http://s295.photobucket.com/albums/mm134/stretchermonkey_2008/Farmyard%202008/

Just looking forward to the next meet!
