Hi again.
Any thoughts and/or opinions on tank knee pads?
Motografix.com has some "Triumph" style pads (ie: Union Jack varieties). Should I just stick with the stock Triumph pads?

Checked their site and couln't find any knee pads, just tank pads. For that retro look, go with the Triumph ones. My 2 cents...

I've got a pair I bought with the bike. Never put em on though. Let me know if you're interested....we'll work something out.

Just my 2p, I don't think the Triumph OEM knee pads look all that good on a black gloss background like our tanks are painted. I think they do look OK when the two places they get glued on are painted a light color. On the new Bonnevilles, with the right piant scheme, the do look good.

I have them, and I like them. They aren't a "necessary" addition, but they add to the traditional Triumph look. Just make sure you line them up right when you put them on, 'cause once they're on, they're on...

Are you sure there JC? Triumph aftermarket stick-on knee pads .. ?
Are you sure they don't fall off after their first introduction to rain .. ?
You know .. so you have to go buy another set!!

My 2 cents since you asked. The Speedy and America don't lend themselves well to the knee pads. I think they look great on the Bonnies and give that retro look and I'm sure with the peg shifter configuration they are also functional. The Speedy America aren't exactly retro bikes and IMHO it just doesn't look right on those cruisers.

Pretty sure, Ade. But then, I don't usually intentionally ride in the rain, and I don't wash my bike with a hose either, so you could be right.

brad, I got the "triumph" knee pads last spring. I ended up returning them. ****** things wouldnt stay on. I even used acetone to clean the tank, still wouldnt hold. they never fell all the way off, but the edges would peel back. looked like crap. maybe you might have better luck with some other brand. There must have been a bad batch. I put mine on just after I got my bike a couple years back, and they've stuck on like, like, like GLUE.

Have had them on since April -02 and they've shown no intention to fall off.
