I had a BSA 441 Shooting Star as the first bike after I passed my test at 17. Like you, i didn't have a lot of mechanical sympathy at that age. Chain kept falling off, no one told me you had to adjust it!

Got feed up of it and sold it to a bloke in the pub for £15 & a couple of beers! As they say If I knew then what I know now.
