Yeah, the Kawsaki KLV1000 is just a re-badged Suzuki V-Strom. It isn't available over here, just like Honda doesn't offer the Varadero in the states.
Funny you should bring up the Tiger. The other day my wife and I stopped by the dealer to order some longer bolts for my Bonneville sprocket cover, and of course you have to wander past the new bikes on the floor to get to the parts counter. So on the way to the back I was showing her some of the new bikes and she really liked the Tiger. My only problem with the Tiger is the lack of dealer network. Since my next bike is going to be more suited for 2up touring, I want a bike that has dealers wherever I go. Or maybe if I had a Triumph dealer close to home that had a good service department, I might bite, but the one near me is bunch of dangerous wankers, and the next closest one I trust is 120 miles away.
Btw, the Tiger isn't just a little more than the Suzuki. I should be able to get a V-Strom for around $8,000. Even though the Tiger does come with the hard bags, it's going to be $10,000-$11,000 around here.
