My advice:dumb idea
his advice = bad advice
Riding with headphones isn't for everybody, but for those who use them, they are a godsend. Music doesn't at all distract from the ride, they actually allow me to focus more completely. And whenever your wrist or knee or neck start aching, I just focus more on the music and the pain goes away. I don't think I'd ever have been able to ride yesterday's 1200 miles without them.
Oh...to answer your question...I use etymotics and love them!
I still would not use then for city riding.I know that its not not legal in the great state of Pennsylvania 3314. Prohibiting use of hearing impairment devices. (a) General rule - No driver shall operate a vehicle while wearing or using one or more headphones, earphone, or any similar device which the department by regulation determines would impair the ability of the driver to hear traffic sounds. (b) Exception - This section does not prohibit the use of hearing aids or other devices for improving the hearing of the driver nor does it prohibit the use of communication equipment by motorcycle operators complying with Section 3525 (relating to protective equipment for motorcycle riders).
i never did understand that. aren't deaf people allowed to drive? what's the difference between not hearing because of your music and not hearing because you have a hearing problem?
there are 10 kinds of people in the world. those that understand binary, and those that don't.
