There seems to be a massive weather conspiracy against nice weekend riding. All week, I'm able to ride to work. Nary a raindrop in sight. However, every weekend has been grey and soggy. It isn't fair! I pay my taxes too!! Switch it out, rain during the week . . . . 
I would be unstoppable if not for law enforcement and physics.

Was headed out to Opelika, Alabama last Sunday, heavy overcast here in Hiram, weatherman said "isolated" storms...Said the heck with it, it's all part of it...got 17 miles downrange and the heavens opened up...Had rainsuit on, but had to take cover for about 10 minutes at a gas station. Torrential was'nt the word for it...Rainfall reduced to a "sprinkle", pressed on to I-85, was dry the rest of the trip. Frog never missed a beat, and we had a blast...Blue skies from Opelika to Hiram that evening...made it all worth it...I simply LOVE the sound that bike makes at 75 mph...

I remember freezing whilst camping in Kelso (long story) I can't remember exactly, but I do think it was in the spring.

That particular date wouldn't have anything to do with King Billy of the Boyne would it?
I can testify to the Scottish weather seeing as I managed to get hypothermia in August on the Isle of Skye when I was 17.
Just because clothing says waterproof doesn't neccessarily mean it is.

Back on the conspiracy theory....
With all the babysitting laws out there now (you know, the ones that are suppose to protect us from ourselves), there are some government types that just think motorcycles should be outlawed, but for them to create this weather that we're having is just going too far!

I think you are on to something! It is a kind of constructive eviction from our bikes!! That's it, I'm calling the ACLU!

I'll inject the science note here about the rain on the weekend. Read an article a few years back (Popular Mechanics?) that said that people drive to work, and factories runs full speed through the week, putting out a certain amount of particulate pollution. By about friday evening, this has built up enough to cause rain to condense in the atmosphere, and it will rain on saturday and some on sunday. Then, the following week, the cycle starts all over again. Something like that. Just reporting what I read, no reason to beat me with a hickory stick shaped like Al Gore.
