What jets are you using for the Specialty Spares and Freak airbox removal? Dale is sending me the 45's and I have 160's. This is the combination on Dinqua's site at sea level. I am far from an expert, but doesn't the 160's seem too rich?

Tony - I run SS short slashes with open pods and 45 pilots/150 mains. Think I'm pretty close to being dialed in.

Looks like I'm getting specialty spares pipes myself, so can anyone tell me what needles they are using. Some say stock with one shim, some say tbs. I would really like someones opinion on this one. Thanks for any replies guys

I've noticed the Jenks Bolt document recommends a smaller pilot jet than I've seen people recommend here. For a 856 Speedmaster with open exhaust and free flow air filter, it recommends 130 main, 2 shims, and just a 140 pilot. Most of the recommendations here are for a 45 pilot with a free-flowing set-up. Any ideas on the reason for the difference? I've got Bub's and K&N pods and I'm trying to figure out how to jet it.

I don't know the reason they would advise that since when I dynoed my bike with 160 main and 42 pilot way back when I first started setting my bike up it was so lean it didn't even register on the graph until the slide opened. Then I was just about perfect. So up the pilot lower the main some and I am really close and I run a 48 pilot and 155 main. Gutted stock pipes with reducer cone still in place and pods.

Zdenko, thanks for the link mate. I have read it before but geez it's a good read even the 2nd time round.

Anyway, while I'm at it. At the moment I'm thinking that with the SS pipes that I'll be getting shortly, I will be initially trying 150 sized jets, 45 pilots and standard needles with 1 shim. Does anyone think these setting are way out or am I pretty well on the money???
