I have a 2005 TBA and wondering if anyone has a suggestion on mounting a hemlet lock on the bike. I have saddlebags on the bike so fender access is limited in the rear. Also any suggestions on the type of lock to use? Thanks from the newbie.

I had this lock mounted on my left handle bar up close to the fuel tank. That way, I could just rest my helmet upright on the tank, and reach through visor to lock/unlock the D-rings.

I have a bolt lock, mounted it on the front most fender bolt, NOT the one the saddlebags are on. Took me a while to find the right metric bolt for it tho...

I have that one also. I mounted it on the sissy bar post as low as it'd go. Helmet rests on the right side saddle bag when I use it.

It's been long enough that I can't remember for certain. I think newspeedmaster or maybe Ma's Cycle. It's a Kuryakan bit and should be on their website??

Don, that license plate Kuryakyn lock looks pretty cool. If you have stock turn indicators, will it still work ok, i.e. have enough room?

I assume that Kuryakyn question was meant for me. I can't say for sure about the clearance as I don't have the unit yet. Just following this thread to see the available options. It's high on my list though. Sorry I can't be of more help. Don
PS....just had another thought....I plan to get a lay down license plate holder and bring the blinkers in closer, so that holder would probably not work in that scenario.

I have a bolt lock and I have it mounted in the same place, and it also took me a lot of searching to find a 10mm x 20mm bolt with a 1.25mm pitch, most of that size have a 1.5mm pitch.

YES!! It's like in between the fine and course thread, right?? I think I ended up finding it online, then the head wouldn't quite fit IN the bolt lock thing, so I had to hog it out a little with my dremel... But I LOVE it where it is. I also got the longer cable, so I can run it thru my jacket arm, and leave that on the seat too. Quite handy.

After going through two Kuryakyn Kewlocks, I made my own with a $5 luggage lock. Now, I just unlock the padlock, loop it over the clutch lever than lock the helmet to the padlock. The hole drilled into the lever housing is just handy storage spot. Thread is at: Helmet Lock Thread
