Just brought my new Speedmaster home and would like to swap out the flasher for a Signal Minder......Please tell me where to find it on the bike. Haven't looked under the tank yet. Thanks. Don

Thanks very much Benny and Brent. You learn some thing new here every day. Brent... my first order has just been placed with you and in fact, an email should be waiting for Sherri tomorrow with a slight change to that order .One item I'm looking for are the two small Chrome fasteners/holders for the brake line that crosses the Speedmaster front fender. If you have them, they could be added to my order, or do I need to place a new order? Thanks. Don

Does that mean I helped you hit your first million?
On the tank removal...What are the steps for a novice mechanic and what precautions should one take? Thanks. Don

I wish! Every bit is very important. So thank you!!!

Removing the tank is very simple. Basically, you'll remove the console and detach the electrical wires. Remove the fule line from the petcock (MAKE SURE THE IT'S IN THE OFF POSITION). Detach the breather hose and pull the tank up and back.

Piece of cake.
1 - Make sure your gas is turned off.
2 - pull the fuel line from the petcock.
3 - Take off the bezel on the tank.
4 - Unplug the electrics.
5 - Take the seat off
6 - Take out the bolt holding the tank on
7- Grasp both sides of the tank and lift off.

Hope that helps. funny thing is, it is one of the simplest things to do, but one of those things that make people the most nervous the first time they work on a bike.

The less gas in there the better, very heavy if it's full, and when replacing make sure you don't crimp the breather hose, it's happened to some...

Keep a good hold on that tank, cause what fuel that is in there can slosh around and throw the weight around a bit. I put mine down on a square of plywood I have with a 2X4 under the rear tab which keeps the petcock off the ground, keeps it from getting squished. Don't trip on it
