OK, Skid, but not in the way that most would think. It has to do with the way that I always drove my vehicles off road. Sliding them in the corners etc. Everyone just though that Skid sounded better as a joke then Slider, when attached to my real first name of Mark!.

My son and I had a long time joke about the old TV show Lassie. So when we moved from the "BIG CITY" of Tampa, to the country of north Georgia I started to call him "Timmy" and he started calling me "Paw". He then made up a silly little song with a line that went something like----"Hi diddle-de-de, my Pawdiddle and me"

The rest is history!

brokenfixed is my first bands name

The story on that is the drummer had a horrible drumset that was more duct tape than drums. And we'd play a song and fix it then play another and tape his sticks back together. And after a while when we were searching for a name it came to me "brokenfixed" as in his set was not quite fixed it was brokenfixed.

I use the name for usernames cause its never used, except ebay.

i got into a dispute with the local union after being a member for 20 years [electrician] went into business myself as a "rat contractor". had an artist draww up a big ole' fat rat with a tool belt on and a hat that read "lester" on it's head. had it printed up on several t=shirts emblazoned "FATRAT". wore that to some craw-dad boils at supply houses,,just to be contrary,,mostly, i reckon..

After getting nailed by a Daisy Cutter, Osama made his way to the pearly gates. There, he is greeted by George Washington. "How dare you attack the nation I helped conceive!" yells Mr. Washington, slapping Osama in the face.

Patrick Henry comes up from behind. "You wanted to end the Americans' liberty, so they gave you death!" Henry punches Osama on the nose.

James Madison comes up next, and says "This is why I allowed the Federal government to provide for the common defense!" He drops a large weight on Osama's knee.

Osama is subject to similar beatings from John Randolph of Roanoke, James Monroe, and 65 other people who have the same love for liberty and America.

As he writhes on the ground, Thomas Jefferson picks him up to hurl him back toward the gate where he is to be judged.

As Osama awaits his journey to his final very hot destination, he screams "This is not what I was promised!"

An angel replies "I told you there would be 72 Virginians waiting for you, idiot. What did you think I said?"

I started using the name a few years ago on another forum (reno4x4.com) after my usual screen name was taken. I'm originally from Virginia so, I wanted to incorporate that as well.

Very good. And all this time I thought your name was a reference to the size of your family.

I just hope no one delcairs a "Jihad" on you, Some poeple have no sence of humor ya know(ask the Dutch).

I've cut pasted and printed out your story. Gonna tape it to my work locker.

Something that stuck from my friends. Mostly because they would mispronounce or misspell my last name.

Always liked old Indian names - they meaned something to them for good reasons.

I'm handy with PC type computers and local area networks. I teach at a career college where my colleagues and students started calling me doctor. Heck, the only thing I've got a doctorate in is from the school of hard knocks. But, I started using it as a handle. I'm also a Baptist preacher. At the local bike shop where I got my 06SM (totalled 6 mos later RIP) and my 06BA (21Kmiles)they call me "Preacher." When I signed on I used DrPC to keep anonymity. But after being on the site for a while, I feel a real, not virtual, connection to the other members. Thanks gus and gals. You are all special folks. God Bless you all! BTW also born in '57'

Its more fun to be ridin'! I'm still ridin

I'm a Iowa Hawkeyes fan ( and a native Iowan, the Hawkeye state ), needed a name for the Iowa fan sites, and I am a lover of Looney Tunes, so I naturally thought of Henery Hawk. It just so happens that it is a very, very good fit for my personality, determined, perseverant, and full of attitude ( at times ).
