Good old St. George's Day, my birthday! and also the anniversary of my fathers death. Mixed feelings about today for obvious reasons.

I hate the fact that we in England are ashamed of wearing our national colours today. Probably cos the red and white cross was highjacked by the NF and now the BNP in the 70's and 80's and in a lot of peoples minds it stands for Facism.

In recent years of course we've seen a come back in our national pride and the good ol St Georges cross appears now and then when Englands footballers take to the field.

I for one will wear my flag with pride today, safe in the knowledge that I'm not a facist, just proud to be a very slightly eccentric Englishman. As they won't make it a national holiday, I'm taking the day off and going to the Pub for a pint of room temperature ale. a bag of pork scratchins and a good laugh!

Enjoy one and all and Happy St Georges Day!!!!
