Wanted to share the story of how I acquired my ride. I went to look at a 2002 TBA red in color back in 02. I just couldn't bring myself to finance it for long payments so I went home feeling a little dejected. Forward to March of 08. My wife came home (she is a nurse) and said one of her nurse friends mentioned a motorcycle she had under a tarp at home and thought I might be interested. The story she told was very sad. Her husband had bought this motorcycle and it was the love of his life. He rode it a short time and then one day he began to feel bad and went to the doctor. Lo & behold he had lung cancer and died 2 months later. The bike had been under the tarp ever since. Well I went to look at it expecting a cheap jap bike. When I lifted the tarp my blood ran cold and my pulse quickened. Believe it or not, there set a 2002 TBA in absolutely perfect shape with only 1900 miles on it. It was even red! I tried to contain myself as I calmly asked how much she was asking. She said if I would take care of it and love it like her husband had I could have it for 3600 bucks. I returned that night and bought it for 3000 even. I know this story was long but I wanted to share it with you guys. End of the story is, that it is everything I thought it would be. Everywhere I go people stop and stare and ask about it. I have had many rides over the years but I have now found my calling. Photo Bucket

Mark, Welcome to the site! Thats a great story, and a great bike. We'll have to get together for a ride sometime. Maybe we can can meet up with Tmax (He's in Miller Grove/Cumby area) sometime at the East Texas Burger Co in Mineola. I'm always looking for an excuse to ride down there for some fried pie! Come to think of it, we rode through Diana the last time we went to the Lake of the Pines British Bike Rally a couple years ago. In fact, I think that's right about where we got lost....
Oh well, it's great to have you aboard!

Awsome Looking Bike as it is the same colour as mine. But a little tip on modern motorcycle engines, they install an air injection system for emission reasons, which causes the engine to burn hotter and turn the pipes blue. Too bad it has happened to you pipe already, it is simple and cheap to remove the system. I don't mean to flogg a dead horse if you already knew that (I've ran into people with alot more riding time then myself who are absolutely baffled as to why they chrome discolours.) My father stuffed a couple of jiffy marker lids into the air injection tubes at the dealer when he picked up the bike, installe the removal kit when he got it home, and at >10,000km his pipes are still shiny chrome, mine had ~3000km when we bought so my pipes are a bit blue also. This was a bit off topic, but once I get typing....

Blue Job works well for getting them chrome again, even comes with an attachment to chuck in a drill to work it in. Worked for mine!

Nice bike. You got a great deal there. Incidently. My pipes look like that, and i know all about the AI system, but im too lazy to take it to the shop and get it removed and to ham fisted to attempt to remove it myself. Luckily for me, i like the blue pipes. Makes it look riden.
