Hi all, I was wondering if those out there who have the Bub pipes and K&N filters would be able to tell me what their settings are:

By settings I mean: Mains Jet Sizes, Pilot Jet Sizes, Type of Needles and whether they are with or without Shims etc and also what elevation you generally ride at, For instance, Pat's thingamajig says about 155 mains so that's probably right, but do I use stock with one shim or do I use TBS needles??? I also expect to be putting 45 pilots in but just wanted my fellow tweakers to concur or otherwise.

My reason for asking is that I've bitten the bullet and will be buying the Bubs once Eddy gets them from a back order. Anyway I would prefer it if I was confident my choices were pretty well accurate cos I have sourced an experienced Dyno bloke near to my place (by experienced I mean has done 2 speedies before) who charges $110 per hr so hopefully all I may have to do is tweak the air pilots.

That's my wishful thinking anyway

Will using the stock needle with one shim accomplish something close to the same thing as TBS needles? I have a 2008 Speedmaster on which I just installed Bubs and K&N pods. I put in 145 mains, but left the pilots in which I guess are 40s until I could get a screwdriver that fits better. Also Dinqua's carb jet replacement site said to try the stock pilots first. My idle screws are about 3 1/4 turns out and I think I'm still a little lean at low throttle, but only a very occasional minor pop. I guess I'll try 42 pilots. Does anyone know why Triumph went from 42 to 40 pilots in the more recent years?
