Hi All, I am writing to see if any of you folks have tried Lucas oil conditioner in your rides. I am trying it the first time this oil change. I have noticed a distinct drop in gear box noise and the bike seems to run a bit cooler. So far I am happy with it and will know more after the GA Ralley ride. I used about 5ml with my oil change as per recommendation on the bottle.

I used to run it in my CB560, and it definitely made the motor quieter, that was a noisy SOB. I have not used it yet in my Triumph. 5ml was the recommended mix? That doesnt seem like that much, but maybe I'm not thinkin correctly.

Dave, According to the directions it calls for only 10% mix with any given oil. I figured with a syn that would probqably be plenty anyway as opposed to the Harley which calls for 25-35%! Wow! Anyway it runs out well and is definitely quiter.

Gents. Did you verify that the additive is ok for everything in the engine module? The oil recommended by Triumph is good enough for everything you need so long as it is high quality synthetic ie Mobil 1 Vtwin, Amsoil, etc. Most additives flood the oil with a some specific chemical (example extreme pressure lubricant) that helps in one application (reduce noise) but can ruin others (clutch grip). Given the fact that the transmission and engine are fed from the same sump, that additive might cause your clutch to slip or attack some brass parts in your engine or ..... Look at the attached thread. http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/images/lucas/lucas.htm

Additives are pretty much worthless and can actually have a negative effect, as Gregger stated. With good oils such as Mobile and Amsoil full synthetics you won't improve their properties with an additive.
