or just loosen the bolts securing the control to the handlebar and slide it outward against the end cap.

I don't like either method myself.. I find great comfort in knowing that when I release the throttle, it returns to the fully closed position.

I've installed the break away rig before.. very slick but you will have to modify your grip.

The cramp buster works great for me.. best 5 bucks I've spent.
