You know Al I'm willing to bet Jojje built/fabricated all of it by himself. Oh how those Swedes do love their long fork bikes and yet the hidden turbo's still the best part.

Yes, I bought the innertubes and internals, and made the rest myself. It's a Hydra Glide copy, 10 inch over

Absolutely stunning Jojje. I'm impressed to say the least. I really wish you lived close by in the US, as I'd give you my business TODAY to do a turbo install like the one on the black Bonnie. That's just gorgeous to say the least.
Don't get me wrong, the stealth BA install is pure genius too. But I really, really like the "here I am" look.
You sir, are a master craftsman. I tip my hat to you!

Thanks, I use a Schwitzer S1BG-L on my streetbikes, good for 140hp on a Bonnie. I've tried smaller turbos like GT15 and GT20 but this one is the best so far

Cheers, I haven't heard of the Schwitzer S1BG-L before so I will have to have a look for the specs on it. Have you tried the GT-12? It is the one recommended for motorcycles.
Also do the larger turbos you mentioned have much lag due to the larger compressor wheel? I understand they would make more top end power.

GT-12 is way too small. I have full boost at 2500rpm (on my Bonnies, not on this one) so there isn't much lag. 2 cyl engines are very different than 4 cyl when it comes to turbocharging, they need bigger turbines than you would think

Oh OK, thanks for that, I would have originally gone for the smaller one. One more question, how on earth did you get the compressor pipe from the turbo to the airbox / carbies???? There is not much room down there so I'm guessing you welded a sleve through the swingarm. That seems the way without going too close to the tyre...

Now you only have to figure out how to get the return oil from the turbo to flow up hill to the engine, then you are done, almost..

Glad you like it! It's a bit too fast for it's own good, but I'm the turbo guy so what can I do? I'll try it on the drag strip next Wednesday, it won't be as fast as my 904 Bonnie turbo (6.66) but maybe 7.2s in the 1/8. That's the breakout time in the HD streetbike class

That'd be cool, can't wait to hear the time you get! You've inspired many with your project, but now how did you get the return oil back to the engine? I'm guessing you used pressure in the system by connecting the inlet oil line to the oil pressure switch junction???

Yeah, that's how I get oil to the turbo, the return is the hard part since the turbo is lower then the oil level. I have a few tricks but I'm not 100% happy with it yet. No use telling you how not to do it, is there?

Good point, thanks for that. Let us know if you find a good way to do it. Cheers. Good luck for the drag strip tomorrow!

Very nice indeed. & as with quite a few others here I'm lookin forward to hearin the times you get on that thing & also how to tweak out the turbo.... you surely got my gears movin.
I've been wantin to get a little more rake on my SM & was really only thinkin 'bout raked trees... what trees did you use?
The BIG print giveth & the small print taketh away!

Just back from the dragstrip, I thought it would go 7.20 and in the 3rd run it went 7.27s on the 1/8 (that would be 11.1s on a 1/4 mile track). Top speed was 157km/h, 97.5mph. It was pinging all the way so I guess the stock pistons are suffering, nothing new there. I'll put in a 904 or 1100cc before next time I'll race it. It was a handful to ride but the crowd like it. And I haven't solved the oilreturn so it was smoking like an old HD, they liked that too. BTW, I did beat a Honda fireblade, twice! I wonder how that felt for him..
