 How much time to change jets ?

Hello all, I am going to install new pipes and rejet on a 03 speed master, can any one give me som tip's I have done this on many bikes before so all set once the carbs are out. Do i need to remove air box to get carbs out? How much time does this take. any secret time savers?

I followed Dinquas instructions and was done in about an hour or so...mind you it was my first go at working on a MC and more so keeping the carbs on.
Get the carb screws from Brent before you start. Not a must but nice if you strip one of those soft oem screw heads.

Cheaper and faster to just go to Ace Hardware and buy stainless allen head screws.

I've done it both ways - Carbs off and on. Quicker to perform the work with them on but a couple of screws are hard to access. Try with them on and if you strip a screw for the bowl, slide the air box back and pull the carbs.

I had a stubborn pilot jet one time that I couldn't get out when I did it on the bike,l had to pull the carbs to get it out.Also think it is easier to pull them the first time to learn where everything is.

I find that pulling the tank and carbs works best for me. Got open pods so I don't have to mess with the carb/airbox connection. And balancing is easier with the tank off. Switched out the pilots, balanced and reasembled last week in 1.5 hours. And yup the allen head carbs screws are the way to go.
