Did a stupid thing last evening and managed to walk away from the bike with the key on. An hour or so later the battery was drained and couldn't start the bike. While I waited for a buddy to come with his car and jumper cables I removed the battery covers, got frustrated by the fact that the battery bracket is held tight by a Torx screw (which I didn't have) and was generally unhappy. My buddy came (with Torx) and got the battery jumped right away.
So now I'll carry jumper cables with me, of course.
But it occurred to me that since I have the aux power outlet, could I jump it by running jumper cables to the power plug? At least that way if I get stupid again I won't have to disassemble the entire battery compartment.
