Is it possible for me when adding two extra 55w halogen driving lights to just tap into the high beam wire for power?.
I have purchased some small lights off Ebay as discussed in other threads and want as painless an install as possible.
My knowlegde base is not good when it comes to relays etc.

I would put them to a switch though Derek, as the power consumed may just run the battery down if the battery is a bit dodgy..

I would run them off a relay that you could then hook to the high beam, but I would also do a switch, but then again it's really well lit around where I live, so I don't need a lot of extra light all the time.

You can get the Triumph wiring harness for their driving lights, the part number is A9930037. It comes with a socket for a relay and you can plug it directly into the accessory plug.

With the OEM harness, is a relay included or is that a separate purchase? If you utilize this option, the lights will then be controlled by the high beam switch correct?

I would use an in line fuse though, just make things safer...

I beleive I will probably go through a switch placed in the console, with the harness and relay. Thanks though.

Your post is not alot different than the one I posted last Fall. I was able to get some great help and info from ¨Sandmans site¨...very good info and wiring diagrams..I was reluctant to remove the seat and tank to get to the harness where you tie in, but am not glad I did and was surprised at how easy it all went...I tied in to wire #5 [if I remember] and that keeps the lights on whether on high or low, although I did install a switch to turn them off during daytime riding...good luck...check out Sandmans site to avoid self-inflicted stress...
