Take credit when credit is due! I don't often have good ideas but once in a while...once in every great while. I found an application for a RIVCO product that will serve the America and Speedy riders. I presented the idea to RIVCO and guess what? It worked! They liked it and put it in their catalog!

I tested it out on my bike and it is an incredible option and is fairly inexpensive and most of all it works! Gives at least 175 degrees of options, can also be used for a passenger peg option.

Another option for rider comfort.

Very Handsome! Are they only attached at the top ed? Seems like that would be bendy.

Sorry for the delay lads. Only pegs can be attached as a board or flat item would spin under weight.

They are only attached at the top, but they are rated for weight bearing, a beefy peice of metal. I'll give a test to standing on. The engeneer at RIVCO thought they would do just fine and they were tested at weight bearing but I can not recall the exact number.

The clamps will hold a freight train, they are really mean. Has a huge bolt that holds it to the clamp and titanium pins to lock it in place.

I warn anyone using any such device to make sure you mount the pegs so they fold backwards and up at at 45 degree. That way when you plant your foot on the ground with the pegs down it will not snap your lower leg but fold up and back. Also keep the peg from bending if you lay it down or tip over!

eddy

PS, I just tested the weight bearing of the peg/mount. I am only 185 pounds, but full weight on the pegs and bouncing, the bracket flexed VERY little. I certainly would not be afraid of standing up on them myself going down the road.

Sorry, ed. What I meant was can I keep the stock passenger pegs in and also mount the pegs you show at the same time.

Oh, it's a separate clamp on the frame tube - right? Not the top peg mount. I can see that being sturdy enough.

It's a clamp that is circumfrential and has a four point mount and it is BEEFY, actually it just fits in the allocated space. Snugs up to the side cover on it's back corner side but Ihave had not trouble with it.

I'll take some more pitures today.

eddy

Didn't get to the pictures today sorry. Did hear from RIVCO on weight capcity. They said rated at up to 248 lbs for standing on it.

Sorry for the delay on the picture. As you can see it is beefy. A titanium pin keeps the arm from rotating once the selected position is chosen. As for weight bearing, since the main purpose is for driver comfort when traveling weight bearing isn't an issue. It is not reccommended for passenger use as it is designed for use as a highway peg with weight limitations of 248 lbs.

How does the mounting point physically mount to the frame? Two halves pinched?

Yes two C type clamps with four bolts as pictured above goes around the frame tube. Worth repeating, these are highway peg mounts made for mounting on engine guards and not designed for the purpose weight bearing as in a Passenger but a passive weight just as in forward highway bar location.

Ed,

Is there clearance for the right side foot rest arm to rotate a bit more forward? What I mean is, will the footrest arm clear the "George Foreman Grill" front sprocket cover?

I'm about ready to pull the trigger on these but would really like to know this before dropping coin....

Thanks bro,
Jim

Hey Jim,

In this picture you can see how forward I could go on mine before the bolt head would contact the "grill". It may be possible to use a rounded head bolt and that would allow some clearance to swing but it is still a pretty close fit. The arm itself with no peg on would swing around without contact but with the peg bolt is where the problem occurs. I am not sure but one of the new Non Foreman Grill types may not have an issue.

If your wondering about foot/leg position let me know what your looking for and I'll take some pictures with legs attached!

Hope this helps. You know my wife is getting tired of me "testing" stuff because they never come off the bike once I put them on! Hopeless, simply hopeless.

Thanks bro,

FYI I sat on Dave's (leonics) bike yesterday with those pegs. VERY comfy, even for my fairly long legs. I think you'll like em. If you need it farther forward, it's a good excuse to get a T100 sprocket cover!

Good to hear, and you're right. A smaller T100 / Thruxton style cover would work perfect.

Thanks,
Jim

We shall see. I'm kinda partial to the George Foreman Grille cover.. I actually sold my OE 07 cover to get one.

I was changing my chain and sprockets at the same time I installed my pegs from Fast Eddy. That really make the installation easier. I can see it would be a hard time really torquing the clamps down with the rear wheel in place. I only utilize these pegs on the slab, but it is a nice change of position for long rides. The installation is a little tight but it doesn't interfere with my solo finishers from NewSpeedmaster.com I like the adjustability of the Rivco setup, but I would have prefered it in black, but a little etching primer and some flat black paint should take care of that later on.

Yes, ED does ROCK that's for sure.

Just having the chain out of the way for the lower, rear most bolt on the right side would be a plus. The others are fairly easy to get to with everything else in place. Just a PITA to initially install, but hey the pains over with now.

Pics to follow....

Just wanted to let everyone know I did a ~ 250 mile ride yesterday with these Rivco additional rider foot rests. They're worth their weight in GOLD. I still want floorboards, but had no issues with pegs. These really do help in giving you some options (feet & leg position) on a longish ride.

I really like them!! Thanks Ed.
