Don. The craftsmanship is excellent in every way. I did purchase the tank cover as well and like how it looks on the bike. As far as style I have a black speedy and wanted to stay with that look so I purchased the black aligator flame on black and I love it. I haven't riden in any kind of driving rain as of yet so I can't answer completely about that issue as of yet, but when you look at how the zippers under the flap close the storage compartment I have got to believe if there is any leakage it is going to be very minimal. As far as comparing these to the hard bags hey if you want that look go for it plus I was done with my install even with minor trouble in 30 min. and I don't think anybody can claim that with the hard bags.
