So I decided to go to Borders at lunch yesterday to read a few mags. Flipped thru a Deisel Power, then an off road mag, then The Horse. I figured they usually have a couple cool twins in there, and some cool paint jobs I could get ideas from. I also saw a bike with a piece of external clear tubing on the tank as a gauge, and I remembered seeing a bike at the BIA meet last year that had that and I thought it was the coolest idea! Well I was almost to the end, figured I was just going to see ads from there on when I saw one I recognized!!

On page 106 there is an article called "Built in New England" which obviously caught my eye! Then I looked closer and I realised I've seen this bike before!! It is THAT bike with the external gas tubing I saw at the BIA meet! A beautiful white and blue BSA lightening chop done by Chris Bernardi. So I decided to read the whole article.

In his list of custom pieces, he mentions the custom jockey shift he got (and years of experience) from none other than Paul Malloy! You know him better as Chopperpaul !!! He also credits the Malloy brothers for inspiring him to go British in the first place. Chopperpaul lists his occupation on this site as "Astronaut", but I think it's really something closer to the ground Congrats Paul! Glad you and your late brother got some recognition.

PS I can scan a picture or two in if anyone wants to see the bike.

Chopperpaul is certainly my inspiration even though he never answered my pm's when I decided to put apes on my bike. I did it any way and I am so glad I saw his and skydive Jeff's bike when I came to this site.

I am a constant source of dissappointment. With all of the help I try to be to all it is my failings which trouble me most. I actually researched to get the correct part # for the bars I ran(which had to be made up by the company) and put together a list of all parts including custom cables and then just dropped the ball.
About the Horse, Chris is a great guy and true friend. It's so cool to see him get some good ink. I tried to get some of my work in there and just got a series of flaming hoops to jump through. Too bad, I think their readers would love my stuff. I may give it another shot with a custom Harley I've been building all winter with a friend of my late brother, Mark Rohmer, also mentioned in the article. Also I'm almost done with a cool tank for my Speedmaster. I coppied Runner 0023 (no shame in that, his came out incredible) My tank is smoothed with a pop-up gas cap and flame job in the works. We'll see if The Horse likes that. I do hope to get some of my work in the Horse it truly is the mecca for garage custom builders. But I more enjoy this site, you guys are the best!

Paul, did you get that bushing yet? I'll bet it's for that Harley project with your brother's friend isn't it?

Dude gotta post some pics of the tank! I admit, I haven't read all those "help with my tank" threads that were going around.

I didn't scan the pics yet cause I just wrote that up as I was eating my cereal this morning!! If I have some energy tonight I will, if not I will in the AM. It's a sweet bike for sure.

You're two wheeled artist Paul. Now if you could find your way down to the maze also known as North Georgia . Those folks could use some "direction"

I'm out of town, but that issue is laying on my nightstand back at home. I'll scan and post it on Monday.
