I'm interested in the low profile seat and pillion pad on speedmaster parts located here
http://www.newspeedmaster.com/html/low_profile_seat.html

very expensive but I like the low seats for a different look I'm trying to get with my speedy just want to hear if they are worth it before I buy them.

Now there's an unbiased opinion if I ever saw one.

I have it. Looks awesome I'm fabbing up a cool 60's looking sissy bar to go along with it. Now here's the thing. I'm not sitting on it, my wife is, I'll get her a gel pad to slip over it when she is on it. But it looks killer and that all that really matters, right Brent?

What good is spending that kind of money on a seat if you still need a gel pad?

Reminds me of the Billy Crystal character on Saturday Night Live - "It's better to look good, than to feel good."

While I'm not sure that's exactly the case with this seat, as we've had some iron butt riders use the Low Pro, it's no secret that these seats are not the best for touring purposes. My personal opionion (as told to me by my a$$) is that for riding around town, this is the best looking and feeling seat I've come across. Again, just my opinion.

I just got one right before winter so I haven't ridden on it yet, but I will say it looks awesome! I got mine on ebay though, so I didn't pay full price

I had the Low Profile seat on my bike for several thousand miles. I made two trips up to Arkansas on it, and I put in several 100+ mile days on it around here. It is far more comfortable than the stock seat. No, it isn't a touring seat, but I put in several 200-300 mile days on it with no complaints from my back side. The low profile solo seat is perfect as it comes- no need for gel there. The comfort is in the shape of the seat, not the foam that is used. You sit down in the bike rather than on top of it. It's well made, comfortable and worth the money. Get one if you like the look; it rides as good as it looks.

Learning from my mistakes... again and again.

I am not the "typical" BA.com rider. My bike has apes, not alot of chrome, no bags, no shield, no fancy caps or accessories. Most of the "incentive" bits I have stripped and sold. NO chain guard, I sold the "triumph sissy bar" and I am making my own, no front fender, lots of crap in my face. Although I appreciate the knowlege and comraderie of this forum my style is not indicative of the majority. So that being said, I would pay good money for a seat that only looks good 90% of the time while I'm solo, and I'll spend 20bucks for a gel pad that get used the remaining 10% of the time while my o.l. is on the bike.

I had one for most of last season. It looks great, and it is plenty comfortable around town and whatnot. I plan to mostly take long trips on my Speedy though, so I sold it on eBay.

I wondered if someone here bought my seat.

I should have it back from Buchanan by Friday. Hopefully it all comes together soon, we're leaving for Myrtle Beach on May 14th. I'll get some pictures posted when it's done.

my butt would start getting numb spots after only a 100miles on my sporty so if I can get 200 thats a world of diffeence,,, I plan on 100 to 600 mile a day trips.

thanks for the posts,, I'll keep the seat on the back burner and continue on with some other ideas.
